Passionate, fiery, tormented. This is the relationship Hussam Aliwat has with his Oud since childhood. The composer presents today "BORN NOW" (released October 18, 2019, Gaya Music Production / The Other Distribution), the first album of an emotional , cinematic and dense music, between oriental heritage, dreamlike improvisations, polyrhythms, intense rock and jazz modulations.
Surrounded by two cellists (Sary Khalifé and Raphaël Jouan) and a drummer (Nicolas Goussot), Aliwat makes us travel beyond human borders, the limits of imagination and the walls between musical genres.
Gifted self-taught, he transgresses the norms of the oud as other geniuses have broken the codes of their instruments: the bandoneon of Piazzolla, the guitar of Jimi Hendrix.
After having twice filled the Sunset and played on the stages of several French festivals, HUSSAM ALIWAT recorded this ambitious first album which he will present on November 29 at the Café de la Danse during a daring show that will thrill the lovers of the Oud, fans of jazz and alternative rock fans.
